Our CSA
Last year we joined a CSA, see here and here and here.. I loved it! We got in late last year, but we have signed up for another season already. Good Earth Farm is our CSA. If you are considering CSA, I suggest looking into it now........Our CSA offers a lower rate if you sign up by March 1st. Most encourage early registration. Plus, it started me "thinking spring" on a day when the forecast is for snow and ice.

Don't hate me
Don't hate me because of my opinions. I have lots of unpopular notions, and opinions. One that comes to mind this morning is the fact I hate spring... no I don't hate spring, I hate the months that run up to full blown spring. The deep white landscapes of December and January are much more pleasing to me than the ugly brown and muddy thawing in February, March and some of April... Snow that stays and covers the ground until April, when spring is really ready, is what I want.
This morning the snow has returned. Don't hate me, I love it! It's pretty, simple as that.
A controversial opinion. Mine.

Making tracks
Sunday seemed a good day to take the annual trek to our cabin to see what the winter has done.

We are SLOWLY still cleaning the basement, but this week I got a little knitting time.
I finished a sweater that I started in spring 2008.

Cheap thrills
What can I say, it's winter here, and has been winter for a long time. And it's only the beginning of February.
Our big excitement is cleaning the basement. I can hardly contain my joy. To be truthful , my wonderful husband is doing all the real work, I just have to make decisions on what to pitch and what to keep.Don't even think of mentioning the acronym OCD to me. I keep stuff, so what?
So, I thought I would post about some "treasures" that we have found in the process of digging out 24 years of semi-hoarding. Today's post is.................................drum roll please.................................
One yard of wide chenille Ric- rack, a treasure only Betty could love, so I gave it to her.
Beware, you may be the next recipient of one of my basement "finds"! Can't wait for tommorrows post?.......more cheap thrills coming up!
